BIG GREEN GATHERING

Our stall attracted a lot of interest and the Big Green Gathering proved to be an excellent forum for discussion and networking. We raised £250 through the sale of badges and donations. Much of the money was raised through the efforts of 11 year old Molly Hawthorne from Mid Wales who was our super sales woman!!

Child Victims of War now has a support network in the South West. Groups include: Salisbury, Shaftsbury, Frome, Tavistock and Falmouth. Events have included showing of the film 'Invisible War', a moving and informative documentary on depleted uranium weapons and their health effects.

Public events have included 'Get Involved' Local Action for Global Change! which took place in 27/28 March in Sherborne, Dorset.

Many thanks to other groups and individuals around Britain for their support!

"During the build-up to the Iraq war, a group of us in Falmouth decided to organise an art exhibition that opposed the UK's drive to war, called Voicing Dissent. We decided to focus on the work of CVoW, in terms of raising both awareness and funds. We also put on a gig which raised £1,084, and have recorded some CDs. The art exhibition has raised £660. Almost as important is the interest it has raised locally in terms of what the UK is doing in Iraq, and hopefully this will have knock on effects in the long term."
